Making the phone call to hire a forklift and driver for a one-off job, I was struck by the professionalism shown by Hiremech throughout the experience. All I had was a date, the weight and the dimensions of the pallets being unloaded but that was enough to secure the booking. Hiremech were understanding about the fact I couldn’t pin down the exact time slot for the delivery until two days before the job, but once I gave them full details the communication was swift and thorough in finalising everything.

To say I was nervous the day of the job was an understatement but before I’d even had my breakfast I received a phone call at 8am from Jason Young, my driver for the day confirming time and location. The delivery was of a £45000 coffee roaster coming all the way from Germany, hand-built over a 12 week period; Workshop Coffee would be entrusting Hiremech with the unloading of this new piece of machinery and the consequences of the job going wrong would spell disaster for the company’s growth and expansion plans.

Whilst some people would just drive up, get the forks under the pallet and pick it up, Jason took a much more considered approach, assessing the weight, dimensions and centre of gravity of the roaster before starting the job. I could barely look but Jason was calm and measured in his movements, continually checking his own progress and communicating with those around him to ensure the job was secure and ready to move.

Finally it was in, my heart rate returned to normal, paperwork was signed and Jason went on his way with thanks and a handshake.

I cannot recommend Hiremech enough, not only did we get a driver; we got a problem solver who did everything we asked and more. An excellent service all round.
