Being based in Tottenham, only a stone’s throw away from White Hart Lane, there’s no shortage of football lovers among the staff here at Hiremech. With many of us having watched Spurs from the terraces for decades, and enjoying playing football with our friends in our spare time, we know as well as anyone the unifying power of the beautiful game.
So, when Saidou – a member of staff who hails from Senegal – went for a trip to his hometown, we decided to give him some football equipment that he could give to a local boys’ football club he coaches at.
The club – Priory Park FC – is an under-13s football club in Ziguinchor, the second largest city in the north-west African country. We supplied balls, bibs, and some other equipment to the club, much to the delight of its young players. Now, the youngsters will find it much easier to play 5, 7, or 11 a side with the new bibs and balls.
As football fans ourselves, we’re absolutely thrilled that the youngsters are enjoying the equipment we’ve sent them, and we can’t wait to see how they develop as players over the years. Who knows, maybe we’ll see one of them putting the ball past Arsenal’s goalkeeper at White Hart Lane in a decade’s time!
