Hauraton is a leading manufacturer of innovative surface water drainage systems, supplying high-quality solutions to infrastructure, construction and civil engineering projects worldwide. With a strong reputation for engineering excellence and efficiency, Hauraton continues to invest in facilities and equipment that support long-term growth and operational performance.
As part of their expansion, Hauraton opened a brand-new warehouse facility, where maximising storage capacity and optimising internal layout were critical priorities. With every pallet location counting, the company needed a materials handling solution that would help them to maximise their warehouse space without hurting productivity or safety.
A New Partnership Focused on Maximising Warehouse Space
Hauraton first approached Hiremech in 2024. They were looking for expert advice and a quotation for specialist equipment for their new warehouse environment. While this was a new customer relationship, the project quickly developed into a collaborative partnership built on clear communication, technical knowledge and practical support.
From the outset, Hiremech worked closely with Hauraton’s operations team. We advised on truck selection and warehouse layout to ensure the new facility was designed around the most efficient aisle widths possible.
Transitioning to a Narrow Aisle Solution
Previously, Hauraton operated standard counterbalance forklifts, meaning aisle widths were significantly wider and use of space was less efficient. For the new warehouse, Hiremech recommended a switch to Aisle-Master articulated forklifts, enabling narrower aisles while retaining flexibility across the site.
Hiremech supplied:
2 × Aisle-Master AM15NE articulated electric forklifts

The trucks were supplied to standard specification, including safety features such as lights, beacons, reverse alarms, amber beacons and Perspex roofs. This ensured operator comfort and site safety from day one.
Delivering Measurable Space and Efficiency Gains
By moving to the Aisle-Master AM15NE trucks, Hauraton was able to reduce aisle widths to just 2 metres, saving over 1.5 metres per aisle compared to their previous setup. This space saving allowed the team to install additional rows of racking, significantly increasing overall pallet capacity within the warehouse.
The result was a future-proofed warehouse layout that maximises storage density while maintaining smooth, efficient material flow throughout the operation.
Ongoing Support and Positive Operator Feedback
Beyond supplying the trucks, Hiremech continued to support Hauraton after delivery, offering further guidance on how to use the articulated trucks to their full capability and assisting with additional improvements as the warehouse became operational.
Hauraton commented:
“Working with Hiremech and Ben Stiff has been a pleasure. From the first time we reached out, we received clear information that helped us design our new warehouse layout. Following delivery, we’ve had further support with ideas on how to use the trucks to their full capability, along with additional work carried out.”
