This past week, Hiremech forklift hire has been involved in two exciting jobs; helping Camden Town Brewery move to their new premises in Enfield, and moving the world’s largest swimming tank, which has previously been used on Britain’s Got Talent.

Camden Town Brewery’s shiny new premises

Beer drinkers of London will likely be no stranger to beers created by Camden Town Brewery, a microbrewery whose creations have steadily grown in popularity since they were founded in 2010. Considering the widespread availability of Camden Town beers in London pubs, it may come as a surprise to many that they’ve been operating out of a small premises on a quiet mews in Camden for their entire 7 year existence. With growing demand for their products, in London and beyond, the brewery have decided to open a separate premises in Enfield, North London.

The Camden premises will remain open, and be re-fitted to become a ‘pilot brewery’ where Camden Town’s brewers can come up with new recipes.  Meanwhile the much larger Enfield site will be responsible for mass production of Camden Town Brewery favourites, such as Camden Hells and Camden Pale Ale.

The brewery are currently in the middle of getting their Enfield brewery ready for business, and they got in touch with Hiremech to supply forklifts for the project. This week, we delivered the first of seven forklifts which will be instrumental in the creation of the new brewery. The forklift in question is pictured above!

The world’s largest swimming tank

When you work in forklifts, always prepare to be surprised by the next call you get. We were certainly taken aback when we were asked to transport the world’s largest swimming tank, but that’s part of the excitement of the job. The tank was previously used on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012, when water acrobatics team Aquabatique used it for their routine throughout the series. You can watch that performance here:

We were asked to transport the tank for a film production company who are using it as part of a documentary about Herbert Nitsch, the world record holder for all eight different disciplines of freediving.  We don’t know much more about the documentary at this stage, but we’re looking forward to watching it in full once it’s been released!

As London’s leading forklift hire and sale company, we’re used to undertaking jobs that help keep the city moving, and these two are no different. If you’ve got a job that requires a forklift, get in touch with our sales team to find out the different hire and purchase options we can offer you.
