The Fork Lift Truck Association has announced the finalists for its Annual Awards for Excellence which is now in its 21st year. The ceremony will take place on the 28th of February 2015 at The International Centre in Shropshire, which is an exciting new venue for the event. The location is also the birthplace of the British Industrial Revolution. It is the biggest and most prestigious event in the Materials Handling Industry and will be hosted by ITV London Tonight’s Johnny Gould.

The event attracts sponsors and winners from both home and abroad within the Materials Handling industry. The four main product categories include: Environment, Ergonomics, Safety and Innovation. The iconic Archie statuette, which is a symbol of materials handling excellence, is presented to winners in each category.

The CAT reach trucks NR14 – 25N2 have been nominated in the ergonomics section. Reach trucks are perfect for utilising space as well as putting away and retrieving pallets at height and in narrow aisles. If you have a load of up to 13m high then you can surely stack them up with a reach truck. They can only be used indoors and are electrically powered. They are cheap to use and produce no emmissions, however they are quite expensive to acquire and require 8 hour charging time.

A response drive system in the NR-N2 range boosts the productivity of the forklift for fast lifting and lowering, smooth reach movements, accurate load handling control, high stability and minimal mast way. Ergonomically advanced controls give effortless precision. Intermediate step and ergonomic grab handles allow easy and smooth on-off access to a wide, unobstructed, comfortable, protective cabin with low seat position.

The NR- N2 range has eleven models to choose from, with a capacity range from 1.4 to 2.5 tonnes. They include compact and straddle versions, ideal for use in drive-in racking and small spaces, as well as heavy duty and high performance models for large loads and intensive applications. The many options include modifications for extremely cold or hot environments.
